The origin of culture along the southeast coast, Zhang’an, a name card of the ancient culture of Taizhou, ranks number one in the ten cultural conservations of Taizhou. It was in Zhang’an that Zhao Gou, an emperor of the Song Dynasty, once stayed after he retreated to the south of the Yangtze River and that Qi Jiguang, a hero of the Chinese people, defeated the Japanese enemy. Guan Ding also lived in Zhang’an before he co-founded a Buddhist denomination. Besides, Wei Wen and Zhuge Zhi started their journey to Taiwan from Zhang’an.
