Waterscape Park

At the southwestern foot of the White Cloud Mountain, Jiaojiang District, Taizhou City and northeast of the central green axis of central Taizhou, the 22.84-hectare Civic Square lies opposite to the Turtle Mountain with Taizhou Administration Center on the west and the crossroads of the Government Avenue and the Central Avenue on the southwest. Featuring natural landscape, ecological and open space in a coastal city south of the Yangtze River, the square, composed of the Assembly Square, the Cultural Square and the Waterscape Park, started its construction with a total investment of RMB220 million at the end of 2001 and completed the project in May 2003.

The Assembly Square can hold a 50,000-seat meeting with the Great Hall of the People under way in the back and the water scenes featuring "Curtain of a Thousand Threads" and "Three-Fold Waterfall" in the front. The Cultural Square's main parts are a barbered triangle lawn and a large triangular-shaped area of shallow water. The central axis flanked by boulevards is the leisure venue for citizens. And the Waterscape Park creates a leisure land for Taizhou citizens with water features, fountains, flowers, trees and man-made sculptures.
