On the morning of September 8, at the construction site of the biomass hydrogen production project of the Green Energy Gas Island in the Taizhou Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone, workers were busy carrying out pipe piling operations for the production workshop. At present, the pile foundation works of the workshop have been basically completed and will soon move on to the construction of the superstructure, with equipment delivery and installation advancing in parallel; the R&D building, analysis building, and fire protection and utility facilities have all been completed, and the relevant preliminary procedures for plant construction and equipment installation are being implemented in an orderly manner.
The project has a total investment of 980 million yuan and adopts the world's first biomass hydrogen production technology to convert agricultural and forestry waste such as straw into clean energy products. Phase I is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2027. Upon reaching full production, it will have an annual output of 7,120 tons of high-purity hydrogen, 50,000 tons of green methanol, and 100,000 tons of green carbon dioxide, consuming 170,000 tons of agricultural and forestry biomass waste each year.
