On July 22, Taizhou released its economic data for the first half of the year—GDP grew by 6.6% year-on-year, ranking third in Zhejiang Province and 1.3 percentage points above the national average. Four major sectors—industry, wholesale and retail, finance, and construction—contributed 2.8, 1.8, 0.7, and 0.3 percentage points to GDP growth respectively. Five key indicators, including retail and small-scale industries, ranked among the top three in the province, further highlighting the strong resilience of this major city driven by the private economy.
