Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phase I project of the Wenling Section of Taizhou No.1 Highway was held in Songmen Town, marking the official commencement of construction.

Taizhou No.1 Highway is a key component of the city's “1123” transportation network. It also serves as a demonstration project for integrating transportation and tourism and implementing the strategy of building China into a transportation power. The project will connect key areas such as Wenling Economic Development Zone, Songmen Town, and Shitang Town, as well as scenic areas including Dakengsha and Dongxiasha Beaches. It will also synergize with the boutique routes of the Coastal New City, maximizing the linkage of mountain, ocean, and rural tourism resources in Wenling. The highway will further integrate rural roads with distinctive industries and rural tourism, realizing the “coordinated development of culture, tourism, industry, and transportation, and promoting synergy among mountains, seas, islands, and cities”.
