Press Release (Reporter Peng Jie) - On September 19, the think tank report New Features and Trends: Report on Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange (2023) was released at the 2024 Beijing Cultural Forum. The report is based on public documents, data, and case studies, and provides an in-depth survey of Sino-foreign cultural exchanges in 2023. It was researched and written by the project team from the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies.

In the section on “Enhancing Cultural Communication,” the Global Forum on Hehe Culture is highlighted as a key model case. According to the report, “Major international forums such as the Beijing Cultural Forum, the Liangzhu Forum, the Global Forum on Hehe Culture, and the Golden Panda International Cultural Forum actively share the wisdom of Chinese culture, jointly issue declarations on cultural preservation and heritage, and collaboratively implement the global civilization initiative, creating a significant demonstration effect.”

Tiantai County is one of the three main sources of Chinese Hehe culture, embodying its typical forms and vibrant examples. In recent years, Taizhou City has placed great importance on promoting Hehe culture, continually exploring and advocating for its integration into various sectors of the economy and society. The Global Forum on Hehe Culture has been hosted in Tiantai County for three consecutive years (2021, 2022, and 2023). With a strong commitment to cultural dissemination and ideological outreach, the Propaganda Department of Tiantai County has established 15 Hehe Culture Overseas Stations across five continents, guided the establishment of the Tiantai Mountain Hehe Culture Foundation, and achieved provincial recognition for the Hehe Culture Humanistic Park, bringing the “Hehe spirit” to the entire city.
