Located on two sides of Jiaojiang River estuary and the east of Wenhuang Plain with a total area around 562.15 square kilometers, the agglomeration zone runs through Linhai city, Jiaojiang District, Taizhou Economic Development Zone, Luqiao District and Wenling city. It is one of the 15 priority industrial agglomeration in the “twelfth five-year plan” of Zhejiang province and one of the 9 zones which enjoy the priority to develop marine economy in Zhejiang province. The agglomeration zone is targeted to be a circular economy development demonstration zone in China, a distinct industrial agglomeration zone in the south wing of Yangtze River Delta, an important component of marine economy in Zhejiang province and a core leading zone for development transformation in Taizhou. Currently, the zone has 433 enterprises above the state designated scale, 3 national industrial bases in the areas of chemical material and pharmaceutical industry, automobile and parts export, and metal resource reproduction. With major infrastructure and strategic elements such as highway, railway, port and airport, the agglomeration zone enjoys four distinct development advantages, namely broad development room, solid industrial base, concentrated infrastructure and clear urban agglomeration effect. In addition, because the zone is abundant in land, which is concentrated in large pieces, there is no need for land expropriation or designated construction land. Therefore, the zone is ready for projects at any time. All of the above advantages mean great development room and potential for the zone.
