On the morning of July 12, police officer of the Exit-Entry Management Section of Huangyan District Public Security Sub-bureau came to Zhejiang Hongzhen Group Co., Ltd. to give the PRC's Permanent Residence Permit for Foreigners to Indonesian woman GRASIE THO, whose Chinese name is Tao Yiling. It was the first time for Taizhou to issue a permanent residence permit to a foreigner. And Tao Yiling became the first foreigner to get Chinese "green card" from the municipality.

34-year-old Tao Yiling was born and lived in Djakarta, Indonesia. In 2005, she met Liang Weili, a Huangyan company's sales manager who engaged in trade in Indonesia. They got married in Djakarta that year after falling into love. Tao came to China to live with her husband after wedding. In lack of the "green card", Tao had to take the trouble to apply for residence permit every year. Therefore, it has been a long-cherished wish of the couple to get a "green card".

This June, Tao applied for permanent residency in China. After investigation, the exit-entry authorities of the Taizhou Municipal Public Security Bureau and Huangyan District Public Security Sub-bureau found that she had met the legal provisions which require at least marital relationship with a Chinese husband, at least 5 consecutive years of inhabitancy in China, and at least 9-month inhabitancy in China every year with secure source of income and residence. Thus, they reported the case to the provincial public security department and issued the Permanent Residence Permit for Foreigners to her in conformity with legal provisions. "I'm so glad. Many thanks to the exit-entry police officers. With this card, I will live a more convenient life here," she said in fluent Chinese full of excitement.

According to Chen Xin, Deputy Chief of the Exit-Entry Management Section of Huangyan District Public Security Sub-bureau, Tao Yiling is the first foreigner in Taizhou that got a Chinese green card for conjugal reunion with which she can easily travel to and fro between Indonesia and China in the next 10 years.
