On Jan. 20 and 21, Taizhou had a welcome rain after a long drought, and it drizzled in many places. That didn’t only depend on the weather but also the efforts of Taizhou people to seize the opportunity for precipitation enhancement. In the next few days, the whole city will successively carry out a new round of precipitation enhancement.

Due to less precipitation, Taizhou has suffered from drought in some areas since last September. Up to now, several counties (cities, districts) have undergone drought to various degrees. Since the beginning of this year, the average rainfall across Taizhou is merely 1.5 mm, 96% less than that in the same period in normal years. Rainfall in all counties (cities, districts) was more than 90% less than that in normal years, and the cumulative rainfall in Tiantai and Xianju reached the lowest in history. The degree of drought in some areas has already reached moderate to severe.
