Taizhou Starts Construction of 65 Major Projects

On the morning of July 10, the province and the city held an opening ceremony for the intensive construction of major projects, so as to boost the “thorough success” in the whole year’s work with the new effects of project construction. It was the second event of its kind in the province as well as the fourth in the city. On the day a total of 65 major projects in the city saw the construction started together, with a total investment of RMB75.3 billion. Municipal Party chief Wang Changrong attended the ceremony at the main venue in the province. Deputy municipal Party chief and mayor Zhang Bing reported the situation of construction commencement of the major projects in the city to the main venue at the sub-venue in Taizhou. Also attending the ceremony were the leading municipal officials Wu Haiping, Cai Yongbo, Hu Hailiang, Ye Haiyan, Dong Guibo and Lu Zhiliang.

This year, the whole city has strictly centered on the activity of “year of focusing on projects” proposed by the municipal Party committee and government, made every effort in the projects, especially the major projects, and achieved remarkable results. In the first half of the year, the city completed RMB11.1 billion in fixed asset investment, an increase of 19% year on year, and RMB48.2 billion in key construction projects, up by 25% from a year earlier, accounting for 43% of the city's fixed asset investment. The 65 major projects included in the ceremony cover the major infrastructure, industrial transformation and upgrading, urban construction, people’s livelihood and other fields. Among them, there are 6 ppp projects, with a total investment of RMB7.073 billion, accounting for 9.39% of the total investment in the projects, and the annual planned investment at RMB880 million; there are 38 projects of private investment, and the total investment is RMB43.25 billion, accounting for 57.48% of the investment in all the projects, with the annual planned investment at RMB10.678 billion.
